About This Dog for Adoption

Hugo's ideal home

Hugo is looking for a home with calm adopters who want to fill their lives with frenchie joy! He is very friendly and can live with children aged 14 years and older who can read when he is uncomfortable and give him space. Hugo is a polite bean who could live with another calm and relaxed dog who will happily coexist with him, but cannot live with cats or small furries. He would be happy with polite and friendly walking buddies. Hugo has a little training under his belt, he does a lovely “Sit”, but is easily distracted, he would benefit from short sweet training sessions. He was previously housetrained but will likely need a refresher so access to a private, secure garden is needed. Hugo can get a little worried being left alone, so is looking for an adopter who is home most of the time, with the potential to build up leaving after he has settled in. Hugo loves a fuss and will lean in for neck scratches. Hugo will be going home on a muzzle disclaimer for visits to the vets so please bear this in mind when applying. He will need to meet his adopters multiple times prior to going home. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes up to 7 days, and potential adopters would be required to come up to the centre to meet him within 48hrs of being shortlisted.

Could you be Hugo's perfect match?

Cuddly boy Hugo is a 5 and a half year old French Bulldog with a heart of gold. He absolutely loves fusses, neck scratches are his favourite and he will lean in for more. Once he gets to know you he is fully of silly energy and will play and scamper around, he loves a walk and will potter around sniffing everything. After a walk he likes nothing better than to sit curled up next to you on the sofa and have a snooze. This sweet boy is available for adoption.

Frenchie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a French Bulldog.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Frenchie Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
