About This Dog for Adoption

Lockie's ideal home

Lockie is a lovely 2 year old Crossbreed (Frenchie x Jack Russell) who has found himself in our care through no fault of his own. Lockie is full of energy and love and he has an IQ that could rival Einstein! At the moment he is looking to be the only dog in the home and be the centre of attention! Lockie could also share his home with older children, around secondary school age. He is comfortable to be left alone for 3-4 hours a day at home but would benefit from this being built up gradually, especially whilst he is settling in.

Could you be Lockie's perfect match?

Lockie is a bouncy and energetic lad who would love an active family and would benefit from direct access into a secure garden of his own, with a minimum 5ft fence. He loves people but can be unsure of unfamiliar dogs, so should be introduced slowly to new dogs whilst he continues working on his socialisation skills, as he can be reactive when he sees other dogs in the distance. We'd recommend keeping Lockie muzzled on his walks when he first goes home and whilst he settles in, for a minimum of three months. This handsome and loveable chap will require multiple meets at the centre prior to adoption. Animal Welfare licence number is AWE02, as licenced by Glasgow City Council.

Dogs Trust Adoption Process

Thinking of adopting through Dogs Trust? Here's what to expect before you start your application.

  • Register your interest in adoption on the Dogs Trust website - you can't apply for specific dogs directly.
  • Create an account to favourite dogs you're interested in and help the team understand your preferences.
  • Dogs Trust will match you with dogs that fit your lifestyle and home environment.
  • Some dogs listed here may already be rehomed or reserved, as updates can take time to sync.
  • If matched, you'll go through their adoption and home-check process before taking your new dog home.
