Spud's ideal home

Spud will need an ADULT only home with few visitors, where somebody can be around for most of the day. He is clean in his kennel so may just need a little refresher on house training whilst he settles in, but he may not be used to being left for long periods so will need his leaving hours to be built up gradually. Spud could possibly share his home with a neutered female dog following a successful meeting here at the centre, but he cannot live with cats. Spud has been working hard with our training team and will need his new family to be able to continue his training. He would also ask that potential adopters be willing to meet him here at the centre a few times before going home so that he can build strong bonds first.

Could you be Spud's perfect match?

If you're looking for a fun, active dog to go for long walks with, then Spud might be the guy for you. He is a bright, playful young boy with a zest for life. He gets on well with other dogs and has quite the social doggy circle here at the centre however he can be quite tense with intact males. He has mixed well off lead with female dogs, and we feel he could potentially live with a female dog in the home. Spud loves affection and will often fall asleep on his handler's laps when they sit with him, but he has lunged and growled towards new people when they have approached him and tried to interact before he was comfortable. For this reason he will need an adult only environment with few visitors, and should be kept separate from the front door area.
