About This Dog for Adoption

Theo's ideal home

Theo is a lovable 1.5-year-old French Bulldog cross Rottweiler who adores cuddles and often thinks he’s a lap dog despite his size! He’s looking for an adopter who can give him the time, patience, and training to help him focus and build a strong bond. Theo thrives on human affection and will happily lean in for fuss, but he’ll need a home willing to work on his recall, impulse control, and attention when other dogs are around. He is able to live with children 15 years+ and needs to be the only pet in the home.

Could you be Theo's perfect match?

This sweet boy is affectionate, playful, and full of potential. He loves to explore new places, sniffing everything in sight, and he travels well in both the boot and back seat of the car, hopping in without help. Theo enjoys food more than toys, making him a great candidate for reward-based training, and he’s already mastered “sit.” He’s housetrained, good for grooming, and comfortable being handled. With time, structure, and plenty of love, Theo will make a loyal and affectionate companion who’s always ready for a cuddle.

This dog is currently being rehomed under our Home Stay scheme. Under this scheme, the dog stays with their current owner until the point of adoption, when the ownership transfers briefly to Dogs Trust and then to the new adopters. The benefits of Home Stay for a dog are that it minimises disruption and prevents the dog having to come into kennels, however there is the potential the owner may pull out of the scheme prior to adoption. We understand the upset this may cause to potential adopters, and we work closely with the owners to minimised the likelihood of this. However, it remains a possibility, and should this occur, Dogs Trust will prioritise finding adopters an alternative dog.

Frenchie Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a French Bulldog.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Frenchie Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
