About This Dog for Adoption

Lucy's ideal home

Lucy is a bubbly girl who can't wait to meet her family. While we don't know if Lucy has ever been around children before we believe that she would be ok sharing a home with those of primary school age. Lucy could live with other dogs. Any match would need a successful meet in centre before adoption. While we have no history of Lucy around cats, she does have the potential to live with them, pending successful scent swaps. This would be in a home that can take introductions gradually, with the ability to keep them separate at first.

Lucy is a little gem. She's tolerant, affectionate and very pretty. At only 2 years old this lady ended up in our care after being found as a stray. She is happiest in the company of her handlers but we do think she'll be ok being left for an hour or so. Lucy also travels well in the car, though does need a helping hand to get in. Housetraining shouldn't take her long either, as she really tries to keep her kennel clean.

Frenchie Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a French Bulldog.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Frenchie Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images
