About This Dog for Adoption

Misty's ideal home

Misty is a sweet and snuggly little dog with a big personality, looking for a home where someone will be around most of the time to give her the love and company she thrives on. At just a year and a half old, this Frenchie-cross-Dachshund has a playful spirit and a heart full of affection. She enjoys the hustle and bustle of a busy home and has been friendly with everyone she meets, including young children. She could potentially live with another dog after a successful introductions. She’s looking for a home without cats or other small pets.

Could you be Misty's perfect match?

Misty is a fun and affectionate companion who loves cuddles, playtime, and being wherever her people are. She’s a social butterfly who enjoys visitors and has even been known to enjoy a trip to the pub! She travels well in the car and is always up for an adventure. She’s sociable when introduced calmly to other dogs and has done well with playing with groups of dogs. She’s unsettled when left alone, so needs a home where someone is always around, whether that’s a family member, a trusted sitter, or access to day care. Misty’s looking for a loving home that will appreciate her zest for life and help her continue to grow into the brilliant dog she’s destined to be.

This dog is currently being rehomed under our Home Stay scheme. Under this scheme, the dog stays with their current owner until the point of adoption, when the ownership transfers briefly to Dogs Trust and then to the new adopters. The benefits of Home Stay for a dog are that it minimises disruption and prevents the dog having to come into kennels, however there is the potential the owner may pull out of the scheme prior to adoption. We understand the upset this may cause to potential adopters, and we work closely with the owners to minimised the likelihood of this. However, it remains a possibility, and should this occur, Dogs Trust will prioritise finding adopters an alternative dog.

Frenchie Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a French Bulldog.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Frenchie Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
